Momi decided it was time to take me in to a professional groomer.  So today I got all my long hair cut off.  Momi gave the groomer a photo of how she wanted me to look but that's not what I look like.   This is me when I was a puppy.

The groomer said it was because I moved while she was cutting the top of my head.  Momi said not to worry... it will grow out soon enough.

Here is a before and after shot.

Caiche' wants to know who I am.  She doesn't recognize my new look or my pretty new smell or my neck scarf.

I'm not sure if I like this new look or not.  It sure will be easier to keep up.  Momi won't have to be combing my face every few hours or putting rubber bands in my hair.  I never liked those rubber bands and would scratch at them all the time.

Momi says I've lost my soft look and that I now have a hard look on my face - especially around the eyes.   She says I no longer look like a Shih Tzu.  I think it will look good in about a month or so when the top grows out a little.  That will give me a break from all that daily grooming.

Here I am off leash.  Momi lets me run free if there is no one on the beach.  I had a good time on this trip.  Can't wait to go back.

Momi is trying to get me to do one of my tricks but I don't want to.  I want to play on the beach.

I haven't posted during the month of November because I was on a trip in the motorhome with Momi, Caiche' and Bunny Kitty.  We went to Texas and visited many beaches.  We met some really nice people who had some really nice doggies.  I also met some other animals that I had never seen before.

I really liked this little male Shih Tzu.

I love the beach and I had fun until I got sick from Red Tide.  Momi got sick, too.  We had thought about staying for another month but finally decided to come home.  I enjoy riding in the motorhome and sleep most of the time.  Momi got really tired driving 4 to 5 hours a day and we went to bed very early every night cause she was so tired.

I had to wear my pink shoes a lot due to sand spurs that were everywhere.  They hurt my feet and also got all over my face.  It was hard for Momi to pull them out of my fur.  So I didn't get to walk as much as I do when I'm at home.

When Momi pulled into our driveway I knew I was home and got really excited.  So did the cats.  We all were so happy to be back home.  Last night Momi cooked a Gumbo and our neighbors came over and Ms. Carolyn brought over her American Eskimo doggie for me to play with and everyone had a good time.  They are coming back tonight to enjoy a backyard fire in our new firepit.

Momi is planning another trip to the beach here at Grand Isle.  I like going to that beach.  Our friend Mr. Pat lives near there and we always go to his house for a visit before going to the State Park.  When we're at the beach I get to ride in my little red cart behind Momi's bicycle.  We go all over the park and I get to see every little doggie and say hello to all the people who are camping.  We build a fire in the firepit everynight and sit out under the stars till the fire goes out.  Looking forward to this trip.

My Winter Hoodie

I have gained so much weight that I no longer wear a size Medium.  Here is how I look in my winter hoodie.

Next time buy a size Large, OK.

It's pretty Momi but not very confortable.

I was so glad when I got out of that thing.

Momi bought me a basket for our bicycle and now I can ride in front instead of the back of the bike.  I like it but it is a little too small for me.  Momi said they don't make this kind any larger so I'll just have to sit up in it and won't be able to lie down.  Went for a test ride in our street and I got tired very fast.  I wanted to get out only after a short while.  My front legs can't fit into the basket.  Maybe Momi will find a larger one if she keeps looking.  The basket was advertised to carry up to 15 pounds but I am 20 pounds so it was Momi's fault.  I'm not in denial about my weight but I think Momi is.

Momi bought me a doggie stroller so now I can go lots of places with her and not have to stay home all alone.  I like to go where there are lots of people cause I get petted a lot.

My sister cat is a little jealous of me and always tries to do what I do.  When I play fetch with my Momi she tries to get the toy before me but I always win.

Now she is trying to take over my new stroller.  Momi caught her in it today and got a few photos.  Then Momi zipped it up so she can't get in it anymore. HA!

What's up with that, Momi?

Today, Momi set up the camera on the tripod and said she wanted to get a photo of us together.  So I tried to sit pretty for her cause I know how she likes to take pictures.  However, that darn flash hurts my eyes.  It goes off everytime even though the lights are on in the room.  I wish we would take photos outside instead.  Oh, well... here are some of the shots that Momi took today.

I Love My Momi

Last night we had a Bon Voyage party for our neighbor Miss Carolyn who is going to Peru.  She is the momi to my doggie friend, Prince.  She didn't bring Prince to the party because he was taken to the kennel at the Vet's office where he will be staying for 2 weeks.  My momi wanted to keep him here with us but he doesn't like our 2 cats so it's best he stays at the Vet.

I was so happy that we had company at our house.  I get a lot of attention every time that doorbell rings.  Miss Evelyn and her husband Mr. Roberto also came over and everyone celebrated with champagne and snacks and sandwiches.  I worked the room and got a taste of everything from everyone there.  It was so much fun.

Momi said we will have another Bon Voyage party before we leave on our trip to Texas in November.  Then another party when Miss Evelyn and Mr. Roberto leave for their Christmas trip to Puerto Rico in December.  Momi says this is the best time of year for travel because the weather is not hot.  I don't like hot.

Here's a photo of Miss Carolyn holding me.  I kept asking her to pick me up because I wanted to be up where the food was... hehehe.

Here's a photo of me giving a kiss to Miss Carolyn because I knew that she was missing Prince.

Here's a photo of me eyeing that last ham sandwich.  I don't know why I can't have some of that popcorn.  I love popcorn.

Everyone had a great time and next time maybe Prince will be there.

Today is the day I was supposed to go back to the Vet to check the lump on my right hip.  Momi gave me a good brushing today and felt all over  my body but could not find a lump anywhere.  YEAH!  That is good news.  So I will not be going to the Vet today.  I guess it was like the Vet said... just a lump from an injection site.

This is my Happy Face.

Had a great time at the beach with my Momi.  We go there often because it is the closest campground to where we live.  Here are some photos of me taken on this trip.

Chillin' on the beach.  The cool, wet sand feels good on my belly.  It's really hot today and not much of a breeze.

I love to smell the sand.  So many smells... so little time.

Don't know why but smelling sand always makes me want to potty.  Momi will bury it when I'm done.

This is our setup near the bathhouse.  I really like my new red trailer.  It's fun to ride in.  I get tired if I walk too far especially in this heat.

This is a stray dog that came on the beach while we were there.  Momi called the office to report it but no one came to get it.  Eventually, it walked down the beach until we couldn't see it anymore.  I feel sorry for the doggie.  He must have been thirsty and hungry and had no one to love him.  How sad.  Momi was worried that he would attack me so she held me close till he was out of sight.  I barked at him when he got close to us but I don't think he was mean.  He just kept walking away.  I think he could sense our fear.

I'm back home now and enjoying my walks in the neighborhood with my doggie friend Prince.

I have a good life.

Yes, I'm at the beach again.  Momi said we would stay a week.  YEAH!!!

When Momi took me for a walk this afternoon I led the way.  I remember how to get to the crossover and then to the beach.   When I see the water I get so excited.  Momi let me go in the water just a little then we walked far away down the beach.

There was no one on the beach so Momi took my leash off.  I am very brave and didn't walk next to my Momi.  I like to walk a little ways from her but I do keep up.  Sometimes Momi calls me to come to her and I do.

I like to smell everything that is on the beach.  I get my face real dirty with sand but I don't care.  When I get back to the motorhome I get in the pool and wash off the sand before going inside.

I love the beach.

Here is an example of how dirty I get.

I went to the Vet today for some shots that were due and to show her a large lump my Momi found on my right hip.   She said that it was probably a cyst and the only way to know for sure was to biopsy it.  Then the Vet measured it and said that she wanted to see me again in one month.  It doesn't hurt me and I walk alright so I don't think it is anything to worry about but my Momi is scared it might be a tumor.  We will all have to wait and see.

The good news is that I lost a pound.   On every visit to the Vet we find out that I have gained weight - so my Momi cuts down on my meals and increases my walking.  Now that I have lost some maybe my meals won't be cut down anymore.  I sure hope so.

Gotta go now.  It's time to play fetch in the back yard with my Momi.
